Morgan Clementson started her Baking Career at the tender age of 27 years young. After gaining experience and qualifications in the automotive industry working for prestigious companies such as Porsche to working in website design and managing petrol stations she decided that she wanted to pursue a trade qualification. Little did she know then it would lead to her living in Brussels, Belgium travelling to over 30 countries and baking her way around the world.
Morgan completed both qualifications in Bakery and Patisserie along with a Small Business Management qualification at TAFE Illawarra. During her time there she was awarded the Hospitality & Cookery Student of the Year, TAFE Illawarra Apprentice of the Year and many other regional baking show awards. Having never won an award previously she now has quite the trophy cabinet.
Her apprenticeship was varied starting in Supermarket Bakeries, then small private bakeries, semi industrial Pastry production, French Patisseries and finished managing a Wholesale Organic Sourdough Bakery.
It wasn’t until Morgan was nominated and won the NSW Training Awards Apprentice of the Year in 2013 and Runner up in the Australian Training Awards which then catapulted her both professionally and personally into the life she now leads.
Morgan set off on her way to bake her way around Europe, it was here she was trained by renowned bakers in many parts of France, England and America. Upon returning to Australia Morgan was awarded and Australian Overseas Foundation Scholarship thanks to her role as an Australian Apprenticeship Ambassador which enabled her to pursue a traineeship at Puratos, an international group which offers a full range of innovative products and application expertise for artisans, industry retailers, and food service customers in the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors. Headquarters in Brussels, their products and services are available in over 100 countries around the world.
That Traineeship then led to an opportunity to apply for the role as an International Technical Advisor for Bakery, enabling her career to blossom onto what it is today. Morgan now travels to many countries all over the world such as India, China, Iran and America training local teams, visiting customers to help them create even more innovative products every day. Even in such a short time baking Morgan has been able to work with some of the most passionate and influential bakers all over the world learning much about bread culture and history one country and loaf of bread at a time.
